Work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences of an avalanche on the North-South highway. According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, the incident occurred this morning at around 09:29. The snow avalanche was recorded in the Aral section, where the volume of snow was approximately 7,000-8,000 cubic meters.
At the moment, the road is closed to traffic in both directions. Cleanup operations are being organized by the road maintenance enterprise No. 24.
“Special equipment is on site, and work is ongoing. We will provide additional information later,” the ministry reported.
