In connection with this date, a solemn event dedicated to the memory of war veterans took place in Batken on February 13.
Among the participants were representatives of local authorities, law enforcement agencies, heads of district institutions, village leaders, as well as the veterans themselves who participated in the Afghan war.
As part of the ceremony, wreaths were laid at the monument in honor of the heroes of the Afghan war, and a prayer was read in memory of those who gave their lives on the battlefield.
The second part of the event took place in the meeting hall of the district state administration, where veterans were congratulated and presented with commemorative gifts.
The Afghan war, which began in 1979, lasted a full ten years. Currently, there are 33 veterans living in the Batken district, and today 15 of them were present at this significant meeting.
