In Bishkek, the activities of a "black pawnshop" and usury have been suppressed. This information was announced by representatives of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the agency, as a result of operational measures aimed at identifying and eliminating illegal pawnshops that issue loans at exorbitantly high interest rates, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, known as A.A.T., was arrested on February 12.
According to available data, the detainee was engaged in the illegal issuance of loans to people in difficult financial situations, thereby earning significant profits, including real estate collateral.
During the searches, documents related to a dozen real estate properties were seized, as well as a smoothbore firearm of the "Baikal" brand with ammunition, stored in violation of the law.
The detainee has been placed in the SCNS detention center.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the case and identify possible accomplices.
