The Kyrgyz Republic plans to establish funds that will support local community initiatives in five cities and rural areas.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Finance, the agency has signed a memorandum of cooperation with several non-profit organizations, including the Public Fund "Civic Participation," the Center "Interbilim Osh," and "Youth of Osh."
Within the framework of this memorandum, the parties are combining their efforts to implement a pilot project aimed at creating funds to support local initiatives in the specified areas.
The main goal of the project is to enhance citizen participation in addressing local budget issues, support their initiatives, and assist in the implementation of projects beneficial to the community.
The Ministry of Finance will provide consulting and methodological support to local self-government bodies, while partner organizations will focus on training, conducting information campaigns, and supporting initiative groups at all stages of the funds' operations.
"This initiative will contribute to strengthening the role of local communities in managing budgetary resources, increasing the transparency of their distribution, and creating conditions for the effective operation of funds across the country," the statement emphasizes.
