In the Batken region, in the village of Muras in the Leilek district, work is nearing completion on the creation of a new water supply system as part of a project aimed at "Improving water management services resilient to climate change." This information was announced by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, construction work is in the final stages, and soon more than 3,000 local residents will be able to access clean and safe drinking water.

As a result of this subproject's implementation, a large-scale modernization of the infrastructure has been carried out: new reservoirs for storing clean water have been built, modern chlorination units have been installed, water intake facilities have been upgraded, and water pipelines and distribution networks with a total length of over 17 kilometers have been laid.

The completion of this work will be a significant step in improving the living conditions of 3,408 people residing in the village of Muras. The updated system will provide reliable and safe water supply that meets all sanitary requirements, as well as create conditions for long-term operation and effective management of water resources.

The launch of this system will provide centralized water supply to 537 households, which will be a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of this locality.

The construction work is being carried out by the Project Implementation Department of the Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater Department under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
