In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, in the village of Kyzyl-Suu, the launch of a project took place that will provide clean drinking water to about 18,000 citizens, corresponding to more than 4,000 households, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

The opening ceremony of the subproject "Kyzyl-Suu" was held on November 24 as part of the program "Improvement of Water Management Services Resilient to Climate Change." The main goal of the project is to create a reliable water supply system that meets sanitary requirements and adapts to climate change.

After the completion of all works, the water supply system now provides residents with round-the-clock access to clean water, positively impacting the health level of the population and strengthening the resilience of infrastructure to climate impacts. The capacity of local authorities in managing water resources has also increased.

"Providing quality drinking water is a key task for our state. The implementation of such projects improves the lives of citizens, contributes to their health, and develops rural areas. The residents of Kyzyl-Suu can now enjoy a modern and reliable water supply that meets all safety and quality standards. We intend to continue modernizing water management infrastructure and provide the villages of the country with clean drinking water," said Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"The launch of the new water supply system in Kyzyl-Suu is an important event for local residents. We strive for every family in the Kyrgyz Republic to have access to safe water. The World Bank will continue to support the country's efforts to improve access to modern and sustainable water supply and sanitation services, as well as to enhance the quality of life for the population," noted Hugh Riddell, head of the World Bank office in Kyrgyzstan.
