In four villages of the Chui region — Petrovka, Kyzyl-Tuu, Predtechkenka, and An-Aryk — work has begun on the complete modernization of the drinking water supply system. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The main goal of the project is to ensure local residents have constant access to quality drinking water. More than 14,500 people live in these settlements, and the total length of the water supply networks is about 105 kilometers.
The idea of upgrading the water supply system was voiced by delegates at the III People's Kurultai, which took place in 2024. As a result, the villages of the Tort-Kul rural district have been included in a phased financing program, which will begin in 2025 from the republican budget under the "Capital Investments" article.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, a comprehensive plan consisting of 410 items has been scheduled for 2025, formed based on the proposals of the Kurultai delegates. Of this number, 50 activities (12%) have already been completed, while 360 (88%) are in the process of implementation. There are no non-governmental points.
The majority of the appeals received at the Kurultai are related to irrigation issues (60%) and drinking water supply (23%). These aspects are recognized as strategically important and are actively being implemented.
