According to the ministry's data, 50% of the requests concern issues related to irrigation, while 30% are about the need for drinking water for the population.
As a result of the first nine months of 2024, the following activities have been carried out:
— The construction of 10 regulating reservoirs of daily and decadal types has been completed, which are now operational. Work continues on 12 facilities, and design is underway for 29;
— Repair and cleaning activities have been completed on 430 kilometers of canals, 302 hydraulic structures, 123 water measurement posts, 91 pumping stations, and 156 pumping units. Nine pumping units have been replaced, and 53.5 kilometers of the collector-drainage network have been cleaned;
— Drip and sprinkler irrigation systems have been installed over an area of 8,365 hectares, including 1,702 hectares of state land and 6,663 hectares of private farm plots;
— The construction of a concrete cover production plant has begun, with plans to lay concrete over 500,000 square meters of canals this year;
— Work is underway in 85 villages to provide the population with clean drinking water, and by the end of 2025, 60 of them will be fully supplied with this vital resource.
