According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the republic fully meets its needs for beef and lamb. The program to increase poultry production is ongoing. It is important to note that meat prices in neighboring countries, such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, are significantly higher, which previously prompted farmers and livestock breeders to export their products for greater profit.

To stabilize meat prices, government authorities have implemented a number of measures, including a ban on exports and the establishment of price controls. Additionally, due to an increase in domestic production of chicken eggs, their import has been banned. Currently, Kyrgyzstan not only fully satisfies its needs for this product but also exports it. For example, from August to January 2025, 3 million 300 thousand eggs were sent abroad.

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry is responsible for the country's food security, monitoring production volumes.
