As for meat, the republic fully meets its needs for beef and lamb, and efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in poultry production are actively ongoing.
It should be noted that meat prices in neighboring countries, such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, are significantly higher. This has led farmers and livestock breeders to export their products for greater profit.
In response, the government has taken measures to stabilize prices: an export ban on meat has been introduced, and price controls have been established.
Additionally, due to the increase in domestic production of chicken eggs, their import has been suspended. Currently, Kyrgyzstan meets its needs for chicken eggs and even exports them. For example, from August to January 2025, 3 million 300 thousand eggs were exported.
It is important to note that the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Processing Industry is responsible for the country's food security, ensuring the necessary production volume without any issues.
