In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of a state program covering 600 villages aimed at providing the population with quality drinking water has begun. This became known through information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the republic.
According to ministry representatives, work is currently underway in the country concerning both drinking water and irrigation, which is one of the key priorities of state policy.
As of today, construction projects aimed at providing clean drinking water are being carried out in 119 villages of the republic. The inclusion of 600 villages in the state program further emphasizes the scale of the work.
Moreover, significant projects are being implemented in the field of irrigation. Currently, construction is underway at 14 water management facilities, and design developments are ongoing for 18 facilities.
It is planned to complete the construction of 55 irrigation facilities — pumping stations, canals, as well as BSR and BDR by 2026. These measures are aimed at developing agriculture, simplifying farmers' labor, and reducing water shortages.
Additionally, weekly meetings are held between delegates of the kurultai and representatives of the ministry, where raised issues are discussed, decisions are made, and their implementation is carried out. Work in this direction continues without interruption.
