According to information provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Kyrgyzstan fully meets its needs for beef and lamb.

However, according to the ministry, the import of poultry meat continues: in 2025, 58 thousand tons were imported, and in 2026, a supply of 48 thousand tons is expected.
We remind you that the duration of state price regulation on meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat) has been extended until December 31, 2025.
This decision was made to prevent a sharp increase in prices, combat speculation, and stabilize the situation in the meat market, as well as to ensure the availability of this important product for the population.

As noted by Uran Chekirebaev, head of the food security department of the ministry, measures are being taken to maintain price stability amid high inflation in the country and the world.

“Meat is one of the key food products in our country, so we must keep its price at a stable level. Currently, the cost of beef and lamb is about 600–700 soms per kilogram. We are making efforts to maintain this price category, which is especially important for socially vulnerable groups of the population,” emphasized Uran Chekirebaev.

In addition to this, the export of live cattle has been temporarily suspended to ensure a sufficient supply of meat in the domestic market.
