As specified in the official statement, there has been no significant increase in prices for socially important goods such as flour, bread, milk, rice, sugar, pasta, and eggs since the beginning of the year.
However, the cost of vegetable oil has risen due to the increase in the price of imported raw materials. Despite this, the threat of shortages is absent thanks to the reserves that have been created. The situation is expected to improve with the arrival of the new harvest. At the same time, the influence of global meat prices (beef and lamb) is felt in the domestic market, although the measures taken help to curb the rate of price growth.
“Self-sufficiency is our strong point. Domestic production is capable of meeting the needs for key items: potatoes, vegetables, melons, milk, sugar, meat, and eggs. This significantly reduces the risks of shortages, even in the face of external shocks,” the statement emphasizes.
The agency is implementing several key measures:
— price restrictions on meat: introduction of a temporary ban on the export of large and small cattle, as well as targeted price regulation where necessary;
— creation of reserves and supply of oils: reserve stocks have been formed, and no shortages are anticipated;
— monitoring of socially significant goods: weekly monitoring of prices and stocks, prompt response to changes;
— support for local producers: implementation of measures aimed at increasing domestic production and reducing dependence on imports;
— control over markups: prevention of unjustified price increases and unfair practices in the market.
