Favorable natural and climatic conditions for growing fruit and berry crops are observed in almost all regions of Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry notes that wild apple trees, apricots, strawberries, raspberries, strawberries, and currants grow in the country.

Horticulture demonstrates high rates of development, especially in the Issyk-Kul region, where black and red currants, as well as apples and sea buckthorn, are actively cultivated. In the Batken region, special attention is given to apricots, while the Chui region is known for producing strawberries and raspberries.

In recent years, farmers from the Naryn region have also started growing strawberries and various types of currants.

At the same time, there is an active growth in the production of frozen berries in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with international donors, is strengthening support for this sector. In the Osh and Batken regions, with the help of grants and loans from the World Bank, a project called "Economic and Market Development" is being implemented, within which modern trade and logistics centers with freezing equipment are being built.

The main markets for the export of Kyrgyz fruit and vegetable products are Russia and Kazakhstan. However, the geography of exports is gradually expanding to include countries in Europe, Turkey, and Arab states. The Ministry is actively working to promote local products in the Chinese market.
