- According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Kyrgyzstan fully meets its needs for beef and lamb.

However, poultry meat is still imported: in 2025, supplies amounted to 58 thousand tons, while a decrease to 48 thousand tons is expected in 2026.

The agency also reported that the state price regulation on meat (including beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat) will be extended until December 31, 2025.

This decision aims to prevent sharp price increases, combat speculation, and stabilize the domestic meat market, which, in turn, will ensure the availability of this important product for the population.

Uran Chekirbaev, head of the food security department of the Ministry of Agriculture, noted that measures are being taken to maintain price stability against the backdrop of high inflation both in the country and abroad.

“Meat is one of the main food products in Kyrgyzstan, and we must keep its cost at a stable level. Currently, the price of beef and lamb fluctuates between 600–700 soms per kilogram. We are making efforts to maintain this level, which is especially important for socially vulnerable groups,” Chekirbaev added.

In addition, the export of live cattle has been temporarily suspended to ensure the availability of sufficient meat volume in the domestic market.
