According to information announced on October 23 during a radio broadcast, Kyrgyzstan not only fully meets its needs for meat products but also exports both meat and live cattle to neighboring countries. This was reported by Uran Chekirbaev, head of the food security department of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

Chekirbaev noted that interest in Kyrgyz meat is constantly growing, especially from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. According to him, "we not only cover domestic needs but also significantly exceed them, which leads to active exports. Kazakhstan, in particular, actively purchases horses and meat, as our products are considered organic and are in high demand."

However, he also pointed out one of the main problems — the degradation of pastures. In particular, the pastures in Uzbekistan are severely depleted, forcing the country to turn to Kyrgyzstan for meat. Similar trends are beginning to emerge within the republic itself.

“It is necessary to consider this situation in the long term. The Ministry emphasizes that the number of livestock should not increase, but it is important that more meat is obtained from each head,” added Chekirbaev.
