Farmers engaged in breeding these rare animals have been achieving success for nearly ten years.
According to the ministry, there are currently more than 300 white yaks in the district. Farmers not only refrain from selling them for meat but are also actively working on increasing their numbers and improving the genetic characteristics of the population. The meat, milk, and hides of white yaks are of high quality and can potentially be exported.
“A local livestock breeder, who has been engaged in breeding white yaks for over ten years, has contributed to the development of this direction. His farm houses many animals, and he is actively working on selection to improve the breed. For his achievements, the farmer may receive recognition for a new breed of yak — ‘Ak topoz Tashtanbek,’” the statement said.
Ministry specialists continue to provide methodological support to farmers regarding animal husbandry, feeding, and breeding work. Additionally, seminars aimed at developing white yak breeding and exchanging practical experience are being organized in the region.
