According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, fishing verhs and shandors have been installed in the Ton District on the tributaries of Lake Issyk-Kul.
Verhs are devices that allow fish to swim inside, but they cannot escape. These structures are used for both natural and artificial fish reproduction.
.
As for shandors, they are complexes made of metal, reinforced concrete, or wooden beams, which are used in hydraulic structures to regulate and block water flows.
Currently, the construction of a fishing barrier (verh) has been completed, which will allow for the start of work on obtaining roe and the artificial breeding of Issyk-Kul trout. These initiatives are being implemented in accordance with ecological and biological standards to ensure sustainable fishing.
