The Issyk-Kul electric grid enterprise, a subsidiary of JSC "NESC," continues its active modernization aimed at reliable and quality electricity supply to the region.
According to the agency, the "Przhevalskaya" substation 110/35/10 kV currently operates with two transformers. In 2025, one of them will be replaced: a 25 MVA transformer will be upgraded to a more powerful one — 40 MVA.
This year, as part of the planned works, the second 25 MVA transformer will be replaced with a new 40 MVA equivalent. As a result, the capacity of the "Przhevalskaya" substation will increase by 15 MVA, totaling 80 MVA.
After the modernization is completed, the overall capacity of the substation will grow, which will reduce the load on the power grid, and the residents of Karakol and the surrounding villages of the Ak-Suu district will receive stable and quality electricity supply. According to the agency, this substation currently serves 14,752 subscribers.
For comparison, in the same period of 2023, there were 13,759 subscribers registered, indicating a growth of 1,000 subscribers over the past three years, confirming the need for phased modernization of the power grid infrastructure. It is expected that all work will be completed by the end of 2026.
