Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan: The capacity of 5 substations in Bishkek has been increased

Among the substations that have undergone modernization are:

— PS 110/10 kV "Kök-Jar" – the transformer with a capacity of 25 MVA has been replaced with a new one with a capacity of 40 MVA;

— PS 110/10 kV "Orto-Alysh" – similarly, the transformer has been replaced with a 40 MVA one;

— PS 110/10 kV "Altyn-Kazyk" – the transformer capacity has been increased from 16 to 25 MVA;

— PS 110/10 kV "Berlik" – the transformer has also been replaced from 16 MVA to 25 MVA;

— PS 110/10 kV "Vodokanal" – the transformer with a capacity of 6.3 MVA has been replaced with a 16 MVA one;

As a result of the work carried out, the total capacity of the substations has increased by 146 MVA, which will improve the quality of electricity supply for the population. In the near future, it is planned to further increase the capacity of two more substations.

These modernization works are being carried out as part of an agreement between the Ministry of Energy and the World Bank.

The aim of these activities is to ensure reliable electricity supply for the residents of Bishkek in anticipation of the autumn-winter season and to enhance service quality.
