The capacity of five substations in Bishkek has been increased

In Bishkek, the modernization of five substations located in densely populated areas has been completed. These works were carried out as part of the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the agency reports.

According to the provided information, by 2025, the capacity of the following substations has been increased:


As a result of the modernization, the total capacity has been increased by 146 megavolt-amperes. This improvement will ensure reliable and quality electricity supply for the residents of the capital, the ministry emphasizes.

It is planned that by the end of the current year, two more substations will be modernized. These works are being carried out as part of an agreement between the Ministry of Energy and the World Bank, aimed at successfully navigating the autumn-winter period and improving the quality of service for consumers.
