According to information provided by the Sandia laboratory, which is part of the U.S. Department of Energy, testing took place from August 19 to 21. During the tests, the F-35 fighter jet dropped bombs that did not contain a nuclear warhead. This event was part of the annual assessment of the country's nuclear arsenal reliability and pilot training. In the following year, 2024, the service life of the B61-12 bombs will be extended by an additional 20 years.

On November 14, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to resume nuclear testing. When asked about the timing of these tests, he replied, "Very soon," without specifying whether this would involve detonating warheads.
