Two flights will be operated from Oman, which will transport 360 people, including women, children, and elderly individuals.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev spoke about the evacuation process for Kyrgyz citizens located in Middle Eastern countries.
He noted that the armed conflict has spread to Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Israel, resulting in eight countries closing their airspace.
According to Imangaziev, approximately 20,000 Kyrgyz citizens are currently in the region.
“The situation in the UAE is currently the most complicated, with about 10,000 of our citizens there. Of these, 1,200 people have requested evacuation, while the rest are residents,” he reported.
Evacuation flights from the UAE are planned for the night of March 4 to 5.
“In the morning, two flights will depart from Oman. The consulate in Abu Dhabi is organizing bus transportation to gather citizens. It is expected that 360 people, including women, children, and the elderly, will be transported on these two flights,” the deputy minister added.
There are about 7,000 Kyrgyz citizens in Saudi Arabia: 1,000 of them are permanent residents, while 5,000 to 6,000 are pilgrims. Approximately 1,000 people have applied for evacuation.
“By 16:00 today, 127 people will arrive in Bishkek and 90 in Osh, respectively. Air traffic in the country continues, and the next flight is scheduled for Friday,” Imangaziev noted.
There are 100 Kyrgyz citizens in Iran, one of whom has requested evacuation and was transported to Azerbaijan with the help of the Russian side.
Additionally, Kyrgyz citizens are also present in Bahrain and Kuwait.
