The mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, together with the speaker of the Bishkek City Council, Bekzhan Usenaliev, and representatives of the public, held a ceremonial opening of the restored bridge on Auezov Street on November 29, 2025, as reported by the city hall.
This event was significant for local residents, especially those living in the vicinity, as they regularly faced difficulties due to limited passage.

“As part of the project, a complete reconstruction with expansion was carried out. The width of the bridge is now 24 meters, and the length is 70 meters (two combined sections). Four traffic lanes have been arranged for vehicles, and on both sides, there are pedestrian sidewalks 3 meters wide. Two layers of asphalt have also been laid, and 12 new streetlights have been installed,” the city hall reported. In 2026, additional concrete work is planned in the channel under the bridge, as well as strengthening its lower part, side walls, and banks.
Before the reconstruction, the bridge was in an emergency state, having only two lanes and a width of just 13 meters, with narrow sidewalks 1.5–2 meters wide.
Construction work began in July and was completed 30 days ahead of schedule.
