In March 2025, construction began on a modern complex on Chuy Avenue, resulting in the road section being closed for a period of seven to eight months.
Now the main construction work is completed, and the section is ready to be opened. However, local residents are dissatisfied, claiming that the new road has become narrower than before the repairs.
The "Kabar" agency held a meeting with representatives of the construction company and employees of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the Bishkek City Hall to clarify the situation.
As reported by project manager Nariman Tyuleev, the project was approved by the Bishkek City Council. The work was supposed to take two years but was actually completed in six months. The road is scheduled to open on December 6.

Another reason for local residents' dissatisfaction is the construction of a three-story building along the road.
"Some express concerns, but the facade of the building is not yet finished. All work is being carried out strictly according to the approved project. The fountain and bronze horses, which were temporarily dismantled, will return to their places. Landscaping of the area is also planned," he added.

"From the very beginning of our oversight of the construction, we have checked compliance with all standards. Despite residents' complaints, the width of the main road has increased from 15 to 16.1 meters. We have expanded the bus stop to 55 meters and allocated a separate lane for their movement," he explained. The curvature of the road may create the illusion of narrowing, but this is related to the expansion of the area near the bus stop.

The pedestrian crossing will be designed in a modern style, and the first floor of the building will house an underground parking lot of 8,600 square meters, accommodating more than 200 cars. The second floor will feature commercial and service facilities, with escalators and elevators, as well as facilities for people with disabilities.

Additionally, the project will create 750 thousand jobs and generate tax revenues of 250 million soms from private enterprises and 10 million soms from the company itself.
