Important road works have been completed on the section of the Issyk-Kul ring road Korumdu-Balbay-Baatyr.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, this construction season saw the laying of 78 km of the lower layer of asphalt, as well as 20 km of the upper layer. The preparation of the road base, installation of drainage pipes, and construction of 16 bridges are at the final stage, with 90% of all work completed.
Currently, work is ongoing to create bike paths and strengthen the shoulders of the road.
The new road is expected to become a four-lane highway and will be equipped with a metal barrier in the center. The project also includes lighting, landscaping, as well as the construction of bus stops, rest areas, and parking lots in populated areas.
