A new bridge was opened on Shukurova Street in Bishkek

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a new bridge was opened today, crossing the YUBCK and connecting Shukurova Street (formerly known as Kropotkina) and Mederova Street.

According to the city administration, the construction took only three months and resulted in a modern and safe structure that has become important for local residents. The new bridge has significantly simplified traffic in this direction, improving the city's transport connectivity.

The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev.

During the construction, a full range of works was carried out: 14-meter beams were installed, two layers of asphalt were laid, road markings were made, and necessary road signs were installed. The width of the roadway is 10 meters, and it is two lanes. Sidewalks on both sides of the bridge are 2.25 meters wide. For safety at night, lighting with five lamp posts has been installed. The total length of the bridge reaches 17 meters, and its width is 9 meters.

Construction began in July 2025, and the project was developed in 2024 based on the architectural and urban planning task issued by the State Enterprise "Bishkek Main Architecture," and underwent state examination.

The mayor also noted that this is just the beginning, and the next step will be the opening of the bridge on Auezov Street, which is also anticipated by local residents.
