The complete restoration of the small arena of the D. Omurzakov Stadium has been completed, and now the facility, which had long been in a neglected state and was not used as a sports venue, is ready to welcome visitors again. The total area of the arena is 15,342 square meters.

History of the Arena

The construction of the main arena, once known as the "Spartak" stadium, took place from 1939 to 1941. The small arena was built simultaneously with the main venue as part of a unified sports complex. After World War II, renovations were carried out, which allowed for an increase in the stadium's capacity to 23,000 seats, as well as the establishment of indoor facilities for wrestling, boxing, and other sports.

However, by the early 2020s, the building had become hazardous, and experts deemed it unsafe in the event of earthquakes. In 2024, the Bishkek City Council returned the arena to municipal ownership, beginning preparations for the construction of a new complex. Unauthorized structures were dismantled, and "Bishkekglavarkhitektura" presented a project for a modern two-level facility.
