A motor scooter driver who hit a pedestrian and fled the scene was detained in Bishkek.
According to information from the Patrol Police Department, the incident occurred on March 2, 2026, at 20:40 on Asanaliev Street. The driver of the "Muravey" model scooter, 36-year-old M.M.S., ran over 45-year-old pedestrian O.M. and left the scene of the accident.
After conducting operational search activities, officers from the Investigation Department of the Patrol Police were able to identify the driver and detained him the following day.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Due to severe injuries, the injured pedestrian is currently in a coma.
The detainee has been handed over to investigative authorities for further proceedings.
