The Antimonopoly Policy Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, operating under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, held a meeting aimed at stabilizing the chicken egg market and preventing unjustified price increases. This was reported by the agency.

Representatives from the Association of Poultry Farmers of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the companies "Umai Group" LLC, "Asia Retail" JSC, and "Borsok Invest" LLC, participated in the event, along with representatives from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

During the discussion, it was noted that the supply of chicken eggs had decreased, which is related to the renewal of the poultry stock and the implementation of scheduled vaccinations. During the vaccination period, the egg-laying capacity of hens may decrease for up to 30 days, which, in turn, affects production volumes. Seasonality also impacts the price situation.

Egg prices have risen due to a simultaneous increase in wholesale prices from poultry farms. The main factors contributing to the price increase include the rising cost of feed, increased logistics expenses, higher packaging costs, and the presence of intermediaries in the small wholesale trade chain.

The association was suggested to work with its members and intermediaries, review its pricing policy, and ensure a more transparent formation of prices in the chicken egg market.
