In Karakol, the complete demolition of the building of the Issyk-Kul Regional Musical and Drama Theater named after Kasymaly Jantoshev is planned. A modern theatrical complex will be built in its place. This was reported by the theater director, Talaybek Turgunov, in an interview with the Kabar agency.

He noted that the theater's structure was built using the ashar method and prefabricated materials, which contributed to its rapid wear and tear. "We are on the verge of significant construction. Soon, the demolition of the old building will begin, and a theater that meets modern requirements and architectural standards will be erected in its place," he added. The project includes the creation of two auditoriums with 1000 and 350 seats, as well as conference rooms and a regional library. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
In addition, Turgunov pointed out the active government support in updating the theater's vehicle fleet. "Previously, we had cars for 7 and 17 passengers, now we have received a minibus for 15 passengers, and today we were handed a passenger car. This will significantly improve the work of our team," he noted.
We remind you that a ceremony was held in Bishkek for the transfer of 117 service vehicles to cultural institutions under the management of the Ministry of Culture, at the square named after T. Usubaliev today.
