Representatives of the presidential plenipotentiary office in the Jalal-Abad region, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, and employees of the Aksy district administration participated in the event, as well as relatives and witnesses of those events.
According to Tilek Tekebayev, the presidential plenipotentiary representative, the Aksy events marked a significant turning point in the history of Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the value of national unity, peace, and the rule of law.
During the memorial event, participants laid flowers at the monument to the fallen, after which a memorial prayer was read.
The clashes in the Aksy district on March 16-17, 2002, resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries to 28 citizens.
This year, by order of the plenipotentiary representative, financial support was provided from the reserve fund to the families of the victims and those affected by those events.
