Azimbek Beknazarov and activists honored the memory of the victims of the Aksy events

On March 17, in Bishkek, representatives of political circles along with activists laid flowers at the monument to the victims of the Aksy and April events in Ala-Too Square. During the event, a prayer was also recited.



It should be reminded that on March 17, 2002, in the village of Bospiyek, located in the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region, law enforcement officers opened fire on peaceful protesters, resulting in the deaths of six people.

The unrest was triggered by issues related to the Kyrgyz-Chinese border agreement, as well as the arrest of deputy Azimbek Beknazarov. These events remain significant milestones in the political history of Kyrgyzstan and subsequently influenced the events of 2005.
