In Bishkek, the great writer Ch. Aitmatov was honored on National Literature Day

In honor of National Literature Day and the birthday of Chyngyz Aitmatov, more than 100 volunteers from the Eurasia NGO gathered in Bishkek to lay flowers at the writer's monument.

According to the organization, this event has become a symbol of respect for the legacy left by the writer, whose works have had a significant impact on the cultural identity of Kyrgyzstan and continue to inspire readers around the world.

During the action, participants honored the memory of Chyngyz Aitmatov with a moment of silence, emphasizing his important contribution to world literature.

Project coordinator Kanikei Tashmamatova noted that such initiatives are of great importance for educating youth and fostering respect for cultural heritage.

“This commemorative date serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving national cultural traditions, as well as the necessity for young people to remember and appreciate those who have made significant contributions to the development of the spiritual and cultural image of the country,” she added.
