The II International "Aitmatov Readings" Took Place in Novosibirsk

On December 5-6, the II International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the National Day of Literature of Kyrgyzstan, titled "Aitmatov Readings," took place at the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consul General of Kyrgyzstan, Aibek Aydarbekov, emphasized the importance of Chingiz Aitmatov's legacy in the context of world literature, as well as the relevance of his ideas about humanism and moral values expressed in his works.

Among the participants of the conference were representatives of scientific institutions, including the leading researcher of the Ch. Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, A. Jantayev, researchers from the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library, as well as representatives of educational organizations and libraries from the Issyk-Kul and Chui regions, and various public organizations.

Students and faculty from the Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov, the Osh State Pedagogical Institute, and the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University prepared reports dedicated to the analysis of Aitmatov's creative legacy.

As part of the conference, on December 6, a Festival of Kyrgyz Cinema was held, featuring the adaptation of Aitmatov's work "Ak Keme" and the film "Kara Kyzyl Sary," based on the novellas of Kyrgyz writer T. Shaidullaeva.
