According to the organizers, this year the forum is dedicated to Gulzara Azhybekova — the People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan. The event also supports a five-year program aimed at the development of mountainous regions and is timed to coincide with the International Mountain Day.
Guests at the opening ceremony included Dinara Kemelova — the special representative of the president for the implementation of the Five-Year Action Plan, actress Gulzara Azhybekova, Talant Tölöbekov — head of the Cinematography Department at the Ministry of Culture, as well as representatives from the Osh city administration and Osh State University.
Tölöbekov presented awards: the title of "Excellence in Kyrgyz Cinema" was awarded to Aydai Chotueva and Zhanil Zhusupzhan, while Gulzhan Iresh and Anastasia Lysogorova received Certificates of Honor.
As part of the forum, a presentation of the book by journalist and publicist Jamba Zhusubaliev titled "Klára Yusupzhanova" also took place. This publication is dedicated to the legacy of one of the first Kyrgyz women directors and includes articles about her contribution to the film industry.
In addition, a master class on dramaturgy was held by young screenwriter Gulzhan Toktogul, a graduate of the American Film Institute. She shared her experience in scriptwriting, discussed the characteristics of female characters in Kyrgyz cinema, and the key principles of creating strong dramaturgy.
From December 3 to 4, as part of the VII International Film Forum, 25 films will be shown in two categories:
- "Female Lens" — 16 works by female directors from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan;
- "Environmental and Social Activism" — 9 films. This year, the environmental program is presented for the first time.
Film screenings will take place at the "Semetey" cinema.
