The solemn opening of the International School of Student Tourism took place within the walls of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin. This project was implemented with the participation of the North Caucasus Federal University and the "Student Tourism" program, which received support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and KRSU.

Alexey Poida, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia at the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, shared information about the development of the "Student Tourism" program:

“Initially, 15 universities participated in the project, and today their number has increased to more than 250. Educational institutions from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, China, India, Vietnam, and Belarus have joined our program.”

Albert Kumukov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the North Caucasus Federal University, noted the growing interest from Russian students:

“We received a huge number of applications. Bright representatives of youth from various regions of Russia arrived in Bishkek. And this is no coincidence — the unique nature and interesting people are here.”

Erdenet Kasymov, Director of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized the importance of the tourism sector for the country's economy:

“In the first nine months of 2025, the contribution of tourism to GDP reached 4.3%. Our goal is to reach 10% by 2030.”

He also noted the enormous tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan:

“More than 90% of the territory is occupied by mountains, there are thousands of routes and a rich history. The International School will play an important role in training specialists who will develop this sector.”

Anastasia Lenets, representing the "Student Tourism" program, noted the friendly reception and interest of the students:

“We felt the hospitality of Kyrgyzstan. I am sure that the week spent within the framework of the program will bring participants new acquaintances and valuable knowledge.”

The school includes educational classes, project work, master classes, excursions to museums, and a trip to Ala-Archa National Park. The program will conclude with project presentations and the awarding of certificates. The school will operate until November 22.
