- By 2030, the share of tourism in Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product may increase to 7%. This was reported by Erdenet Kasymov, the director of the Tourism Department, in an interview on the radio.

According to Kasymov, a sustainable tourism development program has been adopted in the country until 2030, aimed at increasing the share of the tourism sector in GDP to 7%.

Currently, this figure is approximately 4.3%, and by the end of the year, an increase to 4.5% is expected. Tourism is actively developing not only in Kyrgyzstan but also on a global level. Local entrepreneurs also play an important role in the development of the sector through various initiatives," he noted.

Kasymov also emphasized that one of the key areas is improving the quality of tourist services, as this directly affects the experiences of foreign tourists.

“We have created national standards for sustainable tourism, which are based on international norms. These criteria are intended for tour operators, the hotel sector, guest houses, yurt camps, and festivals,” added the department director.
