"We strive to ensure that this project is developed with the participation of students and teachers, as this will be our future home, and we are carefully considering every square meter," he noted.
Later, KRSU clarified that the new campus will be built in the village of Kashka-Suu, which is located beyond the village of Baytik.
Volkov also reported that currently, schoolchildren are studying in the existing university building.
"Although it is currently vacation time, about 570 schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11 are studying at our educational institution. They are mastering five main areas: engineering, medical, socio-humanitarian, entrepreneurial, and IT trajectories," said the rector of KRSU.
According to him, after the relocation of higher education students to the new campus, a school and a college will be placed in the existing university buildings.
"We expect significant growth in the number of schoolchildren and the development of secondary vocational education. Currently, the university has no dormitories, but after the move, a dormitory building will be constructed on the campus, as well as for secondary vocational education in the city," Volkov added.
Currently, more than 9,000 students are studying at KRSU. Schoolchildren have the opportunity to study for free, and hot meals are organized for elementary school students.
It was previously reported that the construction of the new campus has been approved on a site of 30 hectares, and the project received support from the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on June 23, 2025.
