At several international conferences, representatives of embassies highly praised the progress of Kyrgyzstan in the field of cinema. They noted that thanks to the implementation of European management standards and fresh ideas, the industry has significantly transformed in just one year. These achievements are attributed to the team of Ulan Adamaliyev, who heads the cinematography department.

Adamaliyev emphasized that 2025 has become a landmark year for Kyrgyz cinema, opening new horizons. "Foreign colleagues note that our department has become the foundation for a new era of domestic cinematography. This year has been marked by growth, renewal, and international recognition, which has simplified cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in this area," he noted.

This year, Kyrgyz films were successfully presented at prestigious festivals. At the Shanghai International Film Festival, the film "Black. Red. Yellow" by director Aktan Arym Kubat won the Grand Prix, while "The Long Road to Jaiyl" received the main prize in Oberhausen, opening doors for an Oscar nomination. Young directors have also achieved success: films like "Ayan," "The Fugitive," and others received awards at international competitions, breathing new life into Kyrgyz cinema.

Furthermore, Adamaliyev noted that 2025 has become a time of active international cooperation. Kyrgyzstan has signed co-production agreements with countries such as Italy, Turkey, Russia, France, and China. Joint projects have already been launched, such as "The Magic Jug," "Cassandra," and "Kyrgyz-Turkish Relations."

Another significant milestone was the opening of a national stand at the Marché du Film film market in Cannes and participation in the Busan International Film Festival, where Kyrgyz cinema attracted the attention of global producers. The III Bishkek International Film Festival gathered significant figures from the film industry, making the capital a cultural center of the region.

According to Adamaliyev, the development of cinematography has become one of the priorities of the state cultural policy. To improve quality and reach an international level, the National Council on Cinematography was established under the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov.

At the film studio, filming is actively underway for a large historical film about Jusuп Abdrakhmanov, the founder of Kyrgyz statehood. Additionally, a scientific-historical expedition "Following in the Footsteps of Our Ancestors" is being implemented in Turkey, aimed at studying the cultural heritage and ancient roots of the Kyrgyz people.

Adamaliyev added: "We strive for this episode of history, known in Turkey and admired for the courage of our ancestors, to become a source of pride for all of Kyrgyzstan."

Agreements have also been reached for the distribution of Kyrgyz films in countries such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Pakistan, which will be an important step in strengthening cultural ties and bringing national cinema to the international stage.

Adamaliyev noted that all these achievements are the result of targeted work: "We are creating cinema of a new level and promoting it on the world stage. This is just the beginning; many new projects are ahead."

Meanwhile, it has become known that the director of the cinematography department has submitted a resignation letter, which has already been signed.

Earlier, VB.KG reported on the concept of creating films about the heroes of Kyrgyzstan, which received government support. It is important to tell the stories of people who demonstrate heroism in everyday life — in the army, in hospitals, in education, and in other fields.

After the interview with Adamaliyev, many readers became interested in Kyrgyz myths and fairy tales, inspired by his words about the potential of young directors and their collaboration with Hollywood.

Today, Kyrgyz cinema is experiencing a true renaissance. There is hope that the talent and energy of Ulan Adamaliyev, a patriot of his country, will continue to benefit Kyrgyzstan.
