What Was the Kochkor District Like? Archive Photographs

Kochkor District was established in the 1930s: there are various data — in 1930, 1935, or 1939.

Turmush correspondent found archival photographs of Kochkor District.

Kochkor District is located in the northeastern part of Naryn Region.

To the north, Kochkor borders Chui Region, to the east — Issyk-Kul Region, and to the south — Jumgal District of Naryn Region.

The area of Kochkor District is 64,000 km².

The administrative center is the village of Kochkor.

Until December 30, 1962, it was part of the Tian Shan Region, and it has been in Naryn Region since December 11, 1970.
