In the village of Burana, located in the Chui region, various events dedicated to the celebration of Nowruz took place today, March 21, reports Turmush correspondent.

One of the most memorable competitions was the art of dividing a sheep's head into more than 40 parts, where participants also explained the significance of each part. Ten people took part in this contest.

Activist Amanbol Babakulov shared that participants needed to explain how the bones of the sheep's head are divided and indicate who among those present is entitled to eat the ears and eyes.

“In each region, there are its own traditions for serving the sheep's head. For example, in Talas, it is served to the elder, while at Issyk-Kul, this dish is given to the youngest. In general, the sheep's head is divided into 42 parts. We have held such competitions before, and this year we decided to demonstrate how it is done in the Chui region,” he noted.
