The final event of the 'Justice for All' (JUST4ALL) project, aimed at modernizing and digitizing criminal justice, took place in Bishkek.
The event was held on March 26 and gathered high-ranking guests, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Ayaz Bayetov, as well as the head of the legal support department of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers Almaz Ailchieva and Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubaeva, among other representatives of government structures and international organizations.
The project, which has been implemented since 2022 with funding from the European Union in collaboration with the UNDP and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, has demonstrated significant successes. In particular, there has been a reduction in the number of prison sentences and a decrease in the prison population.
Probation in Kyrgyzstan has quickly gained status as an effective tool of justice and, according to international experts, is one of the best practices.
An integrated system that covers all stages of the criminal process—from registration to the execution of judicial decisions—was also highlighted.
An important moment of the event was the signing of the program for the second phase of the project, which will focus on further digital transformation and the continuation of reforms in justice.
The Ministry of Justice expressed gratitude to the General Prosecutor's Office and international partners for their support and cooperation.
