Sezim Jumabekova, 29 years old, won first place in the national horse racing event "kız kuumay," which took place at the Cholpon-Ata racetrack in the Issyk-Kul region in honor of the Nowruz holiday.

She was born in Bishkek, but her ancestors come from the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region. She currently lives in the village of Archaly in the Chuy region and works as a guide-translator. She studied at the Cyprus International University majoring in "tourism and hotel management."

“I have been practicing horseback archery for less than a year. During this time, many interesting things have happened, for example, I tore my clothes while learning new tricks. I work with tourists, teaching them, and I also participate in competitions and train with men because in horseback archery, athletes are not divided by gender — everyone is equal. I grew up in the city and often faced mockery for being 'balcony,' but that didn’t stop me — I continue to ride and shoot arrows,” Sezim shared.

She noted that she started practicing equestrian skills three years ago, which was her own desire, and she has had an interest in horses since childhood.

“In winter, I teach people how to ski. In my free time, I prefer to relax and sleep,” Jumabekova added.

She is not married and lives with her mother.

“In the future, I intend to achieve success in horseback archery,” Sezim emphasized.

She is the eldest of three children in her family and has two younger brothers.
