
From February 6 to 22, the XXV Winter Olympic Games will take place in Italy.
According to the official Olympic website, more than 90 countries will send their athletes to these competitions. Kyrgyzstan will also participate, represented by two athletes.
Our team consists of: Timur Shakirov, who competes in alpine skiing under the guidance of coach Igor Borisov, and Artur Saparbekov, who practices cross-country skiing and trains under Alexander Levdansky.
Artur Saparbekov will participate in the classic style sprint and the 10-kilometer freestyle race, with the cross-country skiing competitions taking place in Val di Fiemme. Timur Shakirov, in turn, will compete in the giant slalom and slalom at the Bormio ski resort.
The XXV Winter Olympic Games will include 15 sports and will award 109 sets of medals. The program will feature cross-country skiing, biathlon, alpine skiing, snowboarding, speed skating, hockey, and other disciplines. Thousands of athletes from around the world are expected to gather for these games.
Additionally, from March 6 to 15, 2026, the Winter Paralympics will be held in Italy, featuring athletes with disabilities.
