The championship of the Kyrgyz Republic in sambo started on February 16 at the sports complex named after Kaba Uulu Kozhomkul in Bishkek, as reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
On the first day of the competition, athletes competing in the weight categories of 58, 71, 88, and 98 kg will take to the tatami.
The championship will last until February 17.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Buzurman Bagyshbekov, as well as other sports figures and officials.
