The Head of the Presidential Administration and the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaiev, attended the opening of the World Sambo Championship taking place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek.
In his speech, he emphasized that it is a significant honor for Kyrgyzstan to host such a large-scale international event.
“Today, 659 athletes from 73 countries, representing various continents, cultures, and traditions, have gathered in Bishkek. This is clear evidence that sports unite people, erase borders, and embody the most important ideals of humanity — peace, friendship, and mutual respect. This championship also holds special significance as it is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of sambo in Kyrgyzstan!”
“Sambo began to develop in our country in 1965 thanks to Sergey Zhuldibin, who laid the foundations of this sport. Since then, sambo has become an important part of Kyrgyzstan's sports culture,” noted the head of the government.
Kasymaiev expressed confidence that this championship will be held at a high level, providing participants with unforgettable emotions and becoming a significant milestone in the history of world sambo.
“You are the pride of your nations, examples of perseverance, strength of spirit, and striving for excellence. May these days in Bishkek become a time of bright victories and fair fights, strengthen friendly ties between nations, and become a symbol of peace and sports brotherhood,” he added.
