The head of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazbek Moldazhiyev, noted that sambo occupies one of the key places in the country's sports life.
Although spectators will not be able to attend the tournament itself, the organizers promise live broadcasts of the events for everyone interested.
Emelianenko acknowledged the level of training of Kyrgyzstan's sambists but added that they lack persistence in decisive matches. He also suggested considering the possibility of holding training camps at Issyk-Kul.
The athlete emphasized: "I expect spectacular, fair, and clean bouts from the championship."
The World Sambo Championship will take place in Bishkek from November 7 to 9, gathering the strongest athletes from around the world. Three disciplines will be represented in the competitions: sport sambo, combat sambo, and sambo for visually impaired athletes in the SVI-1 class. A total of 31 sets of medals will be contested.
