Omurbek Asan uulu reached the finals of the World Championship (U-23)

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Ömürbek Asan uulu, has reached the final of the Youth World Championship in wrestling, which is taking place in Serbia.

The tournament for athletes under 23 years old is being held in Novi Sad, where Asan uulu is competing in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 61 kg.

He has achieved four consecutive victories over opponents from China, Bulgaria, Albania, and Turkey, which allowed him to advance to the final part of the tournament.

In the decisive match for the gold medal, he will face American wrestler Jackson Patrick Forrest.

The 19-year-old Forrest is the Pan American champion and placed 5th at the World Championship among adults in September, having won in the quarterfinals against Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu.

As for the weight category up to 65 kg, Bilol Sharip uulu could not advance past the semifinals and will now compete for bronze and third place.

The final matches will begin at 22:00 Bishkek time.
