Fedor Emelianenko, the famous Russian mixed martial arts fighter, has arrived in Bishkek. His visit is connected to the World Sambo Championship, which will take place from November 7 to 9 at the "Gazprom - Children" sports and health complex.
He was accompanied to the capital of Kyrgyzstan by Vasily Shestakov, the president of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS). The delegation participated in press conferences dedicated to the start of the championship and held meetings with representatives of local sports organizations.
Fedor Emelianenko is a four-time Pride FC champion, a two-time RINGS champion, and also holds the title of world champion in sambo. Throughout his career, he has fought in over 40 professional bouts and is rightly considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.
The tournament organizers announced that Emelianenko will serve as an honorary guest and participate in the opening ceremony of the World Sambo Championship, which is expected to feature athletes from many countries.
The World Sambo Championship will be held in Bishkek from November 7 to 9, with a program that includes the distribution of 31 sets of medals in the categories of sport and combat sambo, as well as competitions for visually impaired athletes. The total prize fund for the competitions will amount to 341 thousand US dollars.
